"I think the authentic, the real, a voice is what drives connection and i want my work to have some of that" "I think the authentic, the real, a voice is what drives connection and i want my work to have some of that"
Keith Aylmore makes generative AI art under the name KWANO. Oslo-based. Working across still image, motion, and immersive formats.
Two decades of making things for screens came before this: graphic design, advertising creative technology, data visualisation, product design. That history trained a particular way of looking. One less interested in output and more interested in decisions. What gets kept. What doesn't. Why.
In 2025, work was shown in Miami, Basel, London, Gijon, Phoenix, New Jersey, and Oslo. In January 2026, recognised as Ambassador for AI/CC, the Artificial Intelligence Creative Community.
The interesting space is not what the model does well. It's what happens when you ask it for something it has no good reference for, and then decide what to keep from the result. Not glitch. Something more specific than that.
Still images and motion. A lot of it monochrome. The process is slower than the tools are capable of. That's intentional.
